ELECTRICAL SAFETY TIPS
- Read appliance instructions carefully in using or operating any electrical product and always follow the recommendations.
- Keep all electrical appliances away from water such as sinks, bathtubs, pools or overhead vent that may drip. Always remember that water and electricity can be a deadly combination.
- Do not operate any electrical appliance with wet hands or while standing in water.
- Do not use any appliance that is defective
- Check the electrical cords and extension cord regularly for signs of damage. Repair and replace any cord which is pinched, cracked, frayed or worn.
- Make sure to unplug unused appliances and put away cords safely out of reach of pets, young children or hazardous situations.
- Have help installing antennas. Locate antennas a safe distance from power line- a horizontal distance from the base to the power line of at least twice the length of the antenna structure. Don’t install or work with an antenna, mast or guys in wet or windy weather.
- Fly kites right only in open areas well away from trees and power lines. Don’t use metalized kites.
- Watch your step ladder. It is best to use a non-conductive ladder made of fiberglass or dry wood when working near power line and always carefully check the location of all power and service lines when using it.
- Treat all electric lines with caution and respect.
